This workshop is meant for people to understand how the construction of space is achieved in video games, how it differs from films, and how their conventions are intimately related to the creation of genres. First we will start with an introduction to terminology, followed by some notes regarding the differences between film production and game development. Ultimately, we will go through examples of movie scenes and gameplays to identify this phenomenon -the space- and the parts that compose it.
