Dagmar Niehage entered the movie industry at the COLOGNE GEMINI Group holding positions as producer, production manager, postproduction supervisor for national as well as international film productions from 1998-2005. 2006 she started her own production company dagstar*film, which produces children-, teen- and family features as well as high-quality international films and documentaries with a special emphasis on young European cinema.
With dagstar*film she produced and co-produced ten feature films and documentaries. Credits include the road-movie LOW LIGHTS (Germany/Lithuania), which participated at more than 30 festivals and which was awarded a Silver Crane for Best Film in Lithuania 2009.
In July 2012 the German family movie PATTYS CATCHUP (aka POMMES ESSEN) was released in German cinemas by FarbfilmVerleih, Free-TV premiere in 2014 at ARD.
Dagmar Niehage was also responsible as producer for the documentary STUMBLING BLOCK released in Germany 2008 and for the documentary PARALLAX SOUNDS (Troika/Cineparalleli, funded by Filmstiftung NRW) released in 2013. The German-Lithuanian documentary LIEBE OMA, GUTEN TAG (funded by Film-and Medienstiftung NRW, FFA, Lithuanian Filmcenter) successfully screened at the NORDISCHE FILMTAGE LUEBECK, DOKFEST KASSEL and other festivals.
The children bestseller adaptation MY LIFE AS LOTTA (aka MEIN LOTTA-LEBEN) (funded by Film- and Medienstiftung NRW, FFF Bayern, FFA, BKM, DFFF) distributed by Wild Bunch Germany had its Cinema Release on 29 August 2019.
Dagmar Niehage is consultant for SoundTrack_Cologne since 2005.
